His Story
Tar & Feather is a memoir describing the early life and career of Japan's beloved Pro-Hero Hawks. The first of it's kind, it is an emotional story that illustrates the trials and tribulations of working for the commission and how his love for being a hero can help overcome government exploitation, abuse, and trauma.
About Tar & Feather
Important Note: This is NOT a collection of individual fanfiction! It is ONE story!Tar & Feather is a Memoir Zine focused around Hawks. This zine is fanfiction heavy, digging into Keigo Takami's childhood, career, and post-war life in a first person point of view.Although canon divergent, it's goal is to create a realistic and cohesive story, as if the Number Two Pro wrote it himself. This zine is highly collaborative and will require a lot of conversation and compromise around the whole story. Everyone works as a team to make a single voice and storyline. Writers must be willing to work together and be ready to work on a team.REMEMBER: You will be on a team working on ONE story, NOT individual stories!Art will be before each section, sprinkled into chapters, potential merch, and signed copies (by Hawks, of course).
Publishing Team
Our publishing team modded Color Theory Zine together as our first zine experience. We learned a lot from our first experience and are excited to implement the feedback and lessons from CTZ to improve ourselves and our projects.Tar & Feather was basically an accident. It came about during a call where we shared our love of Hawks and brainstormed a unique way to show his life....in yet another angsty way. Just like CTZ we gravitated towards the dark and twisted life our hero may have had to endure to become the Number Two Pro and decided that we wanted to showcase that!We are excited to work on another project and shake up the zine space with yet another unique take on how a zine can look!

Who can apply?
Anyone over the age of 18. Topics in the book may be be sensitive.
Ships
Specific ships will not be in this zine. Mentions of relationships may be permitted (so long as everyone on the contributor and mod team agrees) BUT no explicit name drops.To be inclusive of headcanons, we also will keep relationship specifics (hetero, homo) and gender identity (transgender Hawks) as vague as possible so readers can input it themselves!Note: This may be subject to change, please follow our socials to stay up-to-date
Writing Requirement (Copy Writer)
Writers must be ready and willing to leave ships, headcanons, and unwillingness to compromise at the door. This zine is heavy on collaboration as all writers must come up with a single voice, outline, and one cohesive story.Expect up to 200 pages of content. This is a book and we mean it.Note: Headcanons will be permitted if the entire team agrees. This project will require a lot of compromise.
Art Requirement (Illustrator)
Artists can apply to be a page artist or merch. This is around Hawks and his life there is no specific theme we are looking for.
